Consensus will use Materialise’s ACO Hip Guide System, allowing surgeons working with Consensus’ hip implants to plan their surgeries in 3D and use 3D printed patient-specific guides

El Dorado Hills, CA, July 7, 2015– Consensus Orthopedics, Inc., a global manufacturer of total joint implants, just one month after announcing its initial partnership with Materialise, a leading provider of 3D software and sophisticated 3D printing solutions, is proud to announce another collaborative agreement for use of their Acetabular Cup Orientation Hip Guide System.

The Materialise ACO Hip Guide System, a platform consisting of easy-to-use 3D surgical planning software and patient-specific surgical guides for hip surgery, allows surgeons to predictably plan hip surgeries based on the patient’s unique anatomy and structural damage. Based on that pre-operative plan, patient-specific guides are designed and 3D printed for use during surgery.
Colleen Gray, President and CEO of Consensus Orthopedics, states “Materialise is providing Consensus with yet another unique product. Surgical outcomes have a higher rate of predictability once our surgeons have access to pre-operative planning and are able to use patient-specific guides based on a patient’s CT. Consensus is delighted to see this partnership with Materialise grow and to continue delivering innovative solutions for the orthopedics industry.”

Consensus Orthopedics will provide the Acetabular Cup Orientation Hip Guide System for use with all of its hip systems. The success of the Consensus hip systems combined with the over 25 years of experience Materialise has with 3D planning and printing provides surgeons, clinicians, and patients increased access and benefits of 3D printed technology.
