Located in El Dorado Hills, California, Consensus Orthopedics pushes itself every day to provide top quality, large joint orthopedic implants in today’s global market.  Since 1992, Consensus Orthopedics has implanted over 25,000 knees and 15,000 hips worldwide.  Now serving 11 countries across the globe, Consensus Orthopedics designs, develops, and manufactures all of its products in the United States.  The El Dorado Hills, California facility houses a state of the art manufacturing area, a clean room, quality control processes, sterilization, and warehouse.

Beginning in 1992, Consensus, previously Hayes Medical, was founded as a medical device design consultancy, providing numerous services including engineering, design, testing and regulatory affairs to the top international medical device companies.  In 1993, Consensus entered into the total joint market with custom hip implants designed using a patient’s CT scan.  In 1998, while successfully manufacturing custom hips, Consensus looked to expand its implant portfolio by acquiring US Medical Products.

In 2003, Consensus released its first internally designed and developed product, the UniSyn Hip System, a three piece modular hip product.  This system is a unique device that enables surgeons to intimately match patient anatomy and restore biomechanics.  In 2008, the Company changed its name to Consensus Orthopedics, Inc. to better reflect its product line of time tested, proven, total joint implants.
